CrossFit Games Central Regional Qualifier Recap

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. - Anne Frank

Officially, False Grips began when we submitted for the provisional patent in April of 2016. But, in my mind, it truly began last Monday. We finally had everything in place - Our first 500 pairs from the manufacturer, our instructional inserts, our packaging, marketing materials, social media and website, and all of that other planning stuff had been done as well as we could, leading up to an official opening of the website.

This weekend, we had the opportunity (the timing was pretty awesome) to travel with OSO Barbell, our partners in building the False Grips, to the second week of the 2017 CrossFit Games Regional Qualifiers in Nashville, Tennessee.

The venue was at the Music City Centre in downtown Nashville, and it was an awesome experience. Previously, I've been to seven "Regional" CrossFit events, but all as an athlete. I finally got to see what it was like on the other side of the fence. For False Grips, we got to see our baby finally get into the hands of those who the product was originally designed for - athletes and coaches wanting to improve the learning curve of the muscle up. By learning curve, I mean, the False Grips will be used as a tool to decrease the time to learn or instances of people falling off the muscle up wagon, and entirely increase the ease as which it happens on both sides of the fence - instructor and student.

Anyway, Nashville was a success. We sold four "Affiliate 4-packs" and about thirty pairs of False Grips! I talked my literal face off all weekend and had ton's of positive feedback about the product, price, and people that would be helped with the False Grips.

Over the next month, we'll be doing some online marketing in hopes to make our product more recognizable to CrossFitters that need help with the muscle up. Additionally, we are putting together some dates for clinics at boxes around Colorado and surrounding. We're looking forward to meeting some new people and helping people with muscle ups!

If you're a box owner, or a coach or athlete at a box, and would like to have me come to your box for a 2-hour "Muscle up Clinic, please shoot us an email at patrick@falsegrips.com.
